Christmas is such an exciting time for young and old alike. What can be better than snuggling up with your little one and a Christmas picture book? There are some beautifully illustrated books to get all of the family in the mood for Christmas. From traditional tales to favourite characters at Christmas, we’ve got a whole host of festive tales waiting to be explored. We recommend..

The night before Christmas  A Visit from St. Nicholas, or as it is more commonly known, The Night Before Christmas, was written in 1822 and has become one of the best-known poems in the English language.

Snow is my favourite and my best by Lauren Child Lola can’t wait for snow. It snows all through the night and in the morning everything is extremely, completely white. Charlie and Lola play in the snowy park with their friends – they make snow angels, go sledging and Lola even makes
a snow dog – just like Sizzles.

Aliens Love Panta Claus The aliens are excited because tomorrow’s Christmas day. So instead of stealing underpants – they’re giving them away! Join them as they help out in Santa’s busy workshop, put neon pants on Rudolph & tie knickers up in the place of stockings. But remember to hold on to your pants – this special pants giveaway is for one day only!

That’s not my snowman This board book will appeal to the imagination of very young children, who will enjoy touching the different patches in this bright and fun board book.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas  This classic Seussian tale tells the story of the disgruntled Grinch and his fiendish attempts to steal Christmas from the citizens of Who-ville. With wacky rhymes and zany illustrations, this book has been a seasonal favourite for over 40 years.

The Polar Express This is a magical, medal-winning Christmas tale about a boy who boards the mysterious Polar Express, bound for the North Pole. When he arrives, Santa offers the boy any gift he desires, and the boy asks for one bell from the reindeer’s harness.

The Snowman by Raymond Briggs This classic picture book describes the friendship between a boy and a snowman and their magical journey over a sparkling winter landscape.
